Parks & Recreation

Take a quiet stroll, play a little baseball or watch a movie at dusk in one of the many parks proud to call Shakopee home.

With a growing population of more than 32,000 people, Shakopee is a city that enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle. The city’s park, open space and trail system is just one resource that makes Shakopee a great place to live or visit. With over 38 residential parks and over 10 miles of recreation trails, (plus many more miles of sidewalks) it’s a fun and safe way to enjoy the community. The city park system contains 496.40 acres of developed parks and 244.40 acres of undeveloped park land and open space, with 176 acres of land anticipated to be acquired in the near future.

The 3.5 million dollar Huber Park is one of the newest editions to the park system. Located along the beautiful MN River, it maintains a state-of-the art band shelter, an exciting new playground and concession stand (used for special events).

Family and friends can gather together for live concerts, sunset movies and festivals all geared to enjoy the great outdoors.
