Cleary Lake Regional Park

Cleary Lake provides the backdrop for walking, biking, and skiing trails that wind through rolling hills and hardwood forest. A Visitor Center offers ski rentals, concessions, a fireplace, and merchandise.

Hyland Park Reserve

Hyland offers year-round recreational opportunities including hiking and biking trails, cross-country and downhill skiing areas, sledding hills and even snowshoe trails. Richardson Nature Center also offers a number of educational and recreational programs throughout the year. The Visitor Center offers ski rentals, a fireplace, concessions and merchandise.

Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge

A corridor of protected and unparalleled natural beauty stretching 34 miles along the Minnesota River. The Wildlife Refuge provides visitors with miles of trails for hiking, some biking in designated areas, snowmobiling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing. The Refuge is also home to many noted bird-watching areas. The Visitor Center in Bloomington presents exhibits, an art gallery, gift shop, interactive displays and educational programs for visitors.

Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area

Trails running through the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge make up an incredible network of paths for hiking, bicycling, and snowmobiling. Portions of the trail are paved, others non-paved; both wind through beautiful woods, prairies and marshlands.

Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve

Completely undeveloped, Murphy-Hanrehan offers a true outdoors experience. The skiing and mountain biking trails are designed for more experienced recreationalists. The hiking trails wind through thick oak woods; a scenic and serious walk. Murphy-Hanrehan also provides horseback riding and snowshoe areas.
