The Arboretum is dotted with over 48 plant collections and 32 display gardens. The displays range from a Japanese garden designed for contemplation to a serene, wooded native wildflower garden. Each season brings new sights and smells to the Arboretum. In the spring, the gardens come to life with an extensive display of new spring bulbs and the blossoms from more than 200 crabapple trees. In summer, the gardens are in their full glory. The landscape is breath-taking in the fall when the trees are ablaze with color. The Arboretum also features a Visitor Center, gift shop, tea room, conservatory, and a world-renowned horticultural library. The Landscape Arboretum can be explored via car, tram, skis, or by foot! The Three-Mile Drive winds through the scenic gardens and the paved walking and biking paths cover twelve miles of beautiful terrain. During the winter, the groomed cross-country trails cover the same picturesque areas. The Trumpet Creeper tram and guided walking tours take you on an escorted journey through the gardens, May through October. Celebrate the seasons at the Arboretum, and discover why it was named one of America’s premier botanical gardens by USA Today. Minnesota
