Gift Certificates - Member Acceptance

Please note: The Shakopee Chamber has discontinued its Gift Certificate program. However, member businesses may continue to accept certificates with a valid expiration date and return them to The Chamber for reimbursement through December 31, 2008.

As a member of the Chamber, your business can accept Shakopee Area Chamber Gift Certificates from any customer just like cash! This program has been designed by the Chamber to help create more local spending and to develop a loyalty to Shakopee Area businesses. When someone gives Shakopee Chamber Gift Certificates, they are supporting the Shakopee business community by encouraging local spending. This is another benefit for Chamber members.

Tips for accepting Chamber Gift Certificates:

Chamber Gift Certificates are printed on a special safety paper, green in color, with a screened background. You will be reimbursed for these original certificates only - do not accept duplicates.
Chamber Gift Certificates come in $5, $10, and $20 denominations. The value can be applied to your customer's bill, just as if they had given you cash. Certificates cannot be redeemed for cash. Certificates are redeemable at member businesses only.
The way by which a Gift Certificate purchase is entered into the register will vary by store; please be familiar with your store's procedure.
On the back of each Certificate you accept, fill in the date of redemption and your business name.
When accepting Chamber Certificates, verify the expiration date. If you have questions regarding the acceptance of an expired Certificate, please call the Chamber at 952-445-1660.
Chamber Gift Certificates should not be put in your regular bank deposit. Please bring or mail to the Chamber office to receive reimbursement. (1801 East County Road 101 - PO Box 717, Shakopee, 55379.)
